| Sulfaxil
AR
Sulfaxil
AR liq.is a mild oxidising agent,
effective in acid conditions,
and designed to improve the
shade reproducibility and yield
of those disperse dyes, which
are sensitive to reducing conditions.
Your
Advantage
§ Extends shade gamuts
of disperse dyes available for
use.
§ Ensures consistency of
shade reproduction.
§ Enables attainment of
the highest fastness levels
on polyester and polyester-cellulose
blends e.g. Marks & Spencer
C4A Wash Test (60oC), Adidas
Wash Test and C06/C2 Wash Test.
§ Zero foam and easy to
handle.
§ No effluent and TDS problems.
Features
· Retains oxidising powers
in high temperature (130o C)
acidic exhaust,
disperse dyebath conditions,
and therefore remains capable
of being
reduced in preference to the
disperse dye(s).
· Effective in those
instances where reducing conditions
are likely to prevail,
which includes:-
Fully flooded machinery
Blends of polyester with viscose
rayon
Blends of polyester with cotton
where the cotton has been degraded
in alkaline scouring and bleaching.
Certain grades of stainless
steel.
· Completely non-foaming.

Application
The amount of Sulfaxil
AR liq. to be used
will vary depending upon the
prevailing conditions in the
dye bath, but will in general
be as follows:-
1. Where particularly
strong reducing conditions may
occur.
e.g. fully flooded systems,
polyester-viscose blends etc.
Sulfaxil AR liq.
::---> 2
g/l
Should be added to the dyebath,
at the same time as other dyeing
auxiliaries, and before the
dyestuff(s)
2. In other dyeing systems
Sufaxil AR liq. ::--->
1 g/l
Will generally be sufficient
to prevent reduction
3. In the batchwise
dyeing of 100% polyester ground
shades to be subsequently discharge
printed
Sulfaxil AR liq ::--->
2 g/l
NB: It is most
important to ensure that the
high temperature (130°C)
dyebath pH is maintained at
the recommended pH 4.5 - 5.0
by adding acetic acid prior
to addition of the dyes and
ensuring there is sufficient
acetic acid to maintain the
pH at 4.5 - 5.0 throughout the
dyeing phase.
Stock solutions of dyebath auxiliaries
containing Sulfaxil AR liq.
should not be kept for long
periods because the product
exhibits limited cold water
solubility when mixed with other
products.
